"Carapace" is a thesis project that was created with many uses in mind. Not only is this an endeavor that can be carried beyond the initial chapter, but it is an exploration of my skills as a storyteller, cartoonist, designer, and illustrator.
Comic Process
Much like the overarching process of comic-making, the per-page process is a product of iteration and refinement.
Initial Concept Art of splash scene (done traditionally)
Thumbnails of characters for placement, panel & text layouts
First Pass of linework + text placement
Revision of linework
Color blocking of major characters + Eemanata
Finalized page (full color, render, detailing)
